Biden touts a $26M haul from fundraiser featuring Barack Obama and Bill Clinton

New York: President Biden joined Presidents Clinton and Obama at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Thursday for the most successful political fundraising event in the history of American politics. “An Evening with President Biden and Presidents Obama and Clinton,” pulled in a historic $26+ million.

The event welcomed a sold out crowd of more than 5,000 supporters to the famed theater. In a moderated conversation with Stephen Colbert, the three presidents discussed all that was at stake in 2024.

President Clinton praised President Biden’s ability to get things done in contrast to Donald Trump’s obstruction of the bipartisan border deal. President Obama highlighted the Biden-Harris administration’s long list of legislative achievements, including building on the Affordable Care Act to continue lowering premiums and capping the cost of insulin. With Donald Trump hiding at his golf club, President Biden also re-upped his offer to play a round with his predecessor – as long as Trump carries his own bag.

President Biden said, “We’re at a real inflection point in history, things are changing. This guy denies there’s global warming. This guy wants to get rid of not only Roe v. Wade, which he brags about having done, wants to get rid of the ability of anyone anywhere in America to have the right to choose. All the things he’s doing are so old. A little old and out of shape.”

“At the end of the day — who do you think is actually going to look out for you? Who do you think is going to fight on your behalf? Who has gone through tough financial times? Who has actually experienced the worry of a child getting sick and you trying to figure out how you’re going to pay for it? And Joe has gone through those struggles. He’s got family members who have experienced that fear and pain, and have gotten knocked down and had to get back up. And at the end of the day, what you want, not just out of your president but out of your government, is people whose values are rooted in wanting to make sure everybody gets a shot. That is willing to fight on behalf of people who weren’t born into privilege. And that’s who Joe Biden is…at the end of the day, you do have to make a choice and the question then becomes: Who is it that really sees you and cares about you? I can — I’m pretty confident the other guy doesn’t. This guy does,” said former president Obama at the event.
