Long Island, NY: Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, Nassau County Presiding Officer Richard Nicolello, and Chairman of Human Rights Commission Dr Bobby Kalotee joined Indian American Forum Chairperson Indu Jaiswal and Indian American Community from Long Island to celebrate 74th Republic Day of India on Jan 26 at the Nassau County legislature building.
Celebrations started with the American national anthem sung by Nipun Marwaha, followed by unfurling of the tricolor flag by Nassau County controller Elaine Phillips. Town of Oyster Bay supervisor Joseph Saladino, Deputy County executive Anissa Moore, NY State senator Steven D Rhoads, New York State assemblyman John K Mikulin, North Hempstead Town Clerk Ragini Srivastava, Hewlett House Executive Director Geri Barish, Judge Elizabeth Fox-McDonough, Judge Sarita Kapoor, Beena Kothari, Jyoti Gupta and Deepak Bansal were also present at the occasion.
Special Salute to the tricolor was given by members of the Indian Veteran of Tristate namely Wing Commander Suresh Butani, Wing Commander Jagdish Handa and Colonel Naresh Gogna.
Nassau County Judge Elizabeth Fox-McDonough, Judge Sarita Kapoor, Nassau County Controller Elaine Philips, Nassau County Deputy Executive Anissa Moore, NY State Assemblyman John Mikulin, New York State Senator Steve Rhoads, and Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino, Town of North Hempstead Clerk Ragini Srivastava, IDP USA President Vimal Goyal, Mr Deepak Bansal, Colonel Naresh Gogna, Sujata Seth, the Public Affairs Associate for Parker Jewish institute of Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Dr Shaifali Karkare specializes in Pediatric Neurology in New Hyde Park, Dr Jagmohan Kalra, Specializes in Hematology and Medical Oncology, Dr Sohita Mehra – currently, the Director of Breast imaging and started the Breast MRI institute, Anju Sharma, Dr Swati Kumar and Shilpi Kumar were presented with India Republic Day Awards by the Indian American Forum.
Indu Jaiswal, Chairperson IAF welcomed and greeted all the guests. Several community leaders and members of various organizations were also present at the event.
