USCIS processing times for orphan and Hague adoption cases

On Nov. 2, 2022 USCIS announced a change in our method for calculating orphan and Hague adoption case processing times. In response to this announcement, it has received several questions from stakeholders that USCIS addresses in this FAQ posted on Electronic Reading Room.

“We know that behind every adoption case is a child and a family, and we take this responsibility very seriously. We are always looking for ways to streamline our adoption-related processing. We will continue to adjudicate inter-country adoption cases as quickly and efficiently as possible and provide you with as much transparency as we can,” a USCIS statement said.

Engagement and Outreach

“We are planning a USCIS national adoption engagement in the coming months. You may visit our Feedback Opportunities and Contact Us pages for information on the many ways you can communicate with us,” said a USCIS statement.
