Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care (SRLC) organized New Jersey’s largest meal packing event to support families affected by the current crisis in Ukraine on July 15 at The Hilton Parsipanny.
Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care, a global nonprofit organization, conducted a community service SRLC USA Humanitarian Relief event in the inspiring presence of the Spiritual Master Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshji, founder of Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur (SRMD).
The one hundred thousand meals were packed by over 1,000 passionate volunteers.
Randhir Jaiswal, Consul General of India to NY, James Barberio, Mayor of the City of Parsippany-Troy Hills, Dilip Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner in NYC Mayor Eric Adams administration, Ms. New Jersey USA, Alexandra Lakhman, a first-generation Ukrainian American were among those present.
Parsippany Mayor Barberio said, “What I do is minuscule compared to what you do to support the community.”
Indian Consul General Randhir Jaiswal said, “I’m excited to see the energy here which connects not just the people here, but also people across the world.”
Alexandra Lakhman, a first-generation Ukrainian American said, “What your organization is doing for Ukraine is truly commendable. Thank you for giving us food, thank you for giving us hope above all, thank you for helping the ones that needed the most.”
Dilip Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner on behalf of New York City Mayor Eric Adams presented a proclamation to Gurudevshri which read “Commendable and amazing humanitarian work done by volunteers of SRLC, Guruji is full of love and peace, Today’s event is an excellent opportunity for every New Yorker to stand in solidarity with our Slavic sisters and brothers who have been impacted by the invasion of Ukraine, I am proud to applaud Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care for its tireless efforts to build a better, brighter and safer future for all, and I look forward to the many ways in which it will continue to strengthen our city in the years to come. Now, therefore, I Eric Adams, Mayor of the City of New York, do hereby Proclaim Friday, July 15th, 2022 in the City of New York As “Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care Day.”
