World rolls out mats to celebrate 9th International Yoga Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the ninth International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21 with foreign dignitaries, bureaucrats and members of the Indian diaspora at the United Nations Secretariat in New York. The event created a Guinness World Record for seeing the participation of most nationalities in a Yoga session.

Yoga lovers  gathered at the historic Trafalgar Square to celebrate the day.

 

Students of International Indian School in Jeddah, in association with Consulate General of India, perform yoga asanas under the guidance of Eram khan, a renowned yoga and fitness trainer.

 

The Yoga Day celebrations commenced in the UAE with a curtain raiser event held under the iconic dome of Louvre, Abu Dhabi. The event witnessed the participation of diverse nationalities, cultures, and faiths, reflecting the theme of ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’.
